Derbyshire was traditionally impartial into six hundred (partitionment)/hundreds, namely Appletree, High perfection, Morleyston (coupled) with Litchurch, Repton together with Gresley, Scarsdale (hundred)/Scarsdale, Wirksworth (hundred)/Wirksworth. These were based on the seven earlier wapentakes recorded in fashion the Domesday Book, by the fusing of Repton and Gresley wapentakes.
Derbyshire had a exclave/disinterested part up to date north-western Leicestershire surrounding Measham and Donisthorpe. This escaped regularisation in 1844, and was incorporated into Leicestershire in vogue 1888 when the county councils were set merry. The thin fillet of Leicestershire between the exclave increased by Derbyshire, containing Overseal added to Netherseal, is now judged part of Derbyshire.
Apart from this, ingredient parishes up to the minute historic Derbyshire, including Dore, Norton, Sheffield, South Yorkshire Norton and Totley, are now up to date the urban district of Sheffield in South Yorkshire.
